GULF Sparks, Life Starts project aims to illuminate communities and ignite social synergies through clean electricity from solar cell energy sources. Through this initiative, GULF had improved the quality of life for over 30 communities within 5 years.
As one of Thailand’s leading power generation and infrastructure project development, GULF assumes its critical role of addressing fundamental human needs and sought to facilitate access to essential utilities for sustainable living. Our foundational offerings -- "The Power, Energy, and Electricity" – contributed towards the everyday-lives betterment of the underserved communities as we work to bridge access gaps in general public’s reach.
Our efforts are embodied in initiatives that demonstrate our commitment to serving the under-resourced areas like the installation of solar cells in pilot communities such as:
- Huay Nam Sai School, Phitsanulok Province
- Thung Nang Dam Island, Kuraburi District, Phang Nga Province
To ensure that our pilot communities are well-informed and understand how to effectively care for clean energy sources, we have deployed GULF engineers to provide community members important knowledge on the upkeep and maintenance of solar panels.
This consideration is part of company’s ethos encapsulated in “Powering the Future, Empowering the People” concept, dedicated to conducting responsible business while prioritizing societal well-being and adding value to the community’s way of life in a consistent and sustainable manner.
GULF is dedicated to improving access and unlocking new capabilities of healthcare facilities, ensuring quality medical treatments and services are available to broader groups of the community. Through partnerships with dental education institutions and health advocates, GULF’s funding enables the development of medical infrastructures that provide advanced, efficient medical equipment, and tools to organizations that may otherwise lack the necessary resources to accomplish their goals in offering effective patient care.
Through an ongoing collaboration between GULF and Chulalongkorn University's Faculty of Dentistry, the mobile dental unit project has consistently broadened community access to oral health care, thanks to years of GULF’s sustained support and dedicated volunteerism of Chulalongkorn University’s dental students.
GULF contributed to the establishment of the Smart Hemodialysis Center at Thammasat University Hospital.
GULF contributed to the establishment of the Smart Hemodialysis Center at Thammasat University Hospital. Equipped with state-of-the-art kidney dialysis technology, the center holds the distinction of housing the largest number of smart hemodialysis units in Thailand, featuring 30 high-efficiency machines. This advanced technology lowers the risk of infections and improves the long-term quality of life for patients, consequently reducing the mortality rates of kidney disease patients in the community.
GULF has initiated training for farmers residing near our power plants to reinforce the narrative of harmonious coexistence and productive synergy between business, community, and environmental biodiversity. The program includes workshops on organic farming, focusing on seedling cultivation and putting spotlight on the principles of organic agriculture. Participants learn about chemical-free methods through "sow seedlings," a technique that optimizes crop growth and reduces weeds, thereby decreasing labor costs in the process. A key feature of the training is the use of worm compost from GULF's Learning Center, located at its demonstration rice farm.
These innovative farming practices aim to help local farmers improve their technical approaches, develop their skills and career knowledge, resulting in and increased domestic income opportunities, which, in turn, boost the community’s economic potential.
GULF energizes dreams and nurtures the recreational aspirations of young talents by providing sports scholarships. Our aim is to support Thailand's emerging athletes in their journey towards achieving professional status. By doing so, we aspire to uplift the country’s standing in the global sports community and inspire the next generation of talent. Our support covers a range of activities, including soccer games, rugby tournaments, and charity golf events.
Through these initiatives, we are not just investing in individual athletes, but in the broader fabric of our society, promoting a culture of wellness, physical fitness, and inclusivity, as well as the spirit of merit-based sportsmanship and fair competition.
GULF set sights on nurturing the next generation’s awareness and recognition of the role each individual can play in responsible energy consumption that can benefit their households and environment on the community level.
The "GULF Sparks Energy," organizes educational programs in schools located in the vicinity of our power facilities. Moreover, we joined hands with other leading educational institutions nationwide to catapult our efforts in disseminating information on renewable energy sources to a wider audience, advocating for environmentally responsible behaviors and positive consequences of climate-conscious personal habits.
The "One Scholarship, One Dream, Shaping the Future" project is now on its 5th year. GULF has awarded scholarships to a total of 89 patients under the care of the HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Medical Center for facial and cranial deformity corrections at Chulalongkorn Hospital’s Thai Red Cross Society.
The program aims to provide opportunities for patients from low-income families to attain their highest possible level of education and realize their full potential, in accordance with their families' aspirations, life circumstances, and their intellectual and physical capabilities
